Spotify is taking a cue from other companies and delving into the realm of AI prompts with its latest feature announcement. The platform has unveiled AI Playlist, a new beta feature designed to help you create playlists based on a few simple words that capture the music vibe you desire. Whether you're craving "an indie folk playlist to give my brain a big warm hug" or "sad music for painting dying flowers," Spotify's AI Playlist has you covered.

According to Spotify, the AI Playlist feature accepts prompts related to animals, movie characters, colors, places, activities, and emojis. It recommends using a combination of characteristics in your prompt to curate the perfect playlist for your mood.

The AI Playlist beta is currently available to Premium subscribers on both Android and iOS devices in the United Kingdom and Australia. To access it, simply navigate to the "+" button in the top right of your library, select AI Playlist, and choose an existing prompt or create your own. Spotify will then generate the playlist, allowing you to preview it, delete tracks, and provide feedback. Once satisfied, click Create to save it to your library.

Spotify's AI Playlist feature comes more than a year after the introduction of its AI DJ, which compiles a selection of music based on your listening history and preferences. If the songs playing aren't quite hitting the mark, you can ask the DJ to mix things up to better suit your mood.
