Fusion of Heritage and Entrepreneurship: WBHC Chairman's Vision for Conservation

West Bengal Heritage Commission (WBHC) chairman Alapan Bandyopadhyay emphasized the fusion of heritage, hospitality, and entrepreneurship for heritage conservation in the state during an event commemorating World Heritage Day.

Bandyopadhyay stressed the importance of entrepreneurial efforts alongside public funding for preserving heritage sites. He advocated for public-private partnerships (PPP) in heritage and hospitality, with public funding facilitating through regulatory frameworks. Success stories highlighting this approach were showcased, including the transformation of [INSERT HERITAGE SITE NAME] into a heritage hotel and Cossimbazar Rajbari’s revival.

Harshvardhan Neotia, a WBHC member, emphasized the need for a viable business model to support heritage building restoration efforts.

As West Bengal continues its journey to preserve its rich heritage, the integration of entrepreneurship with conservation efforts stands as a promising pathway for sustainable development.
